
SEWING TASTER WORKSHOPS – ONLINE

Session 1: Wednesday 28th April 12.30-2.30pm
Session 2: Wednesday 5th May 12.30-2.30pm
Participants will then have the opportunity to join a 6 week Accredited Sewing Course starting in Mid-May
Course details
In partnership with Newcastle City Learning, we will be running 2 Sewing Taster Workshops in advance of a 6 week accredited sewing course starting later in May. These sessions (and course) will be delivered via Google Classroom – all attendees will be given their own free account & supported to join.
Session 1: Make a gift bag. Learners will need a small piece of fabric – needle and thread – ribbon or cord – can be made either by hand or machine.
Session 2: Make an apron. Learners will need a piece of fabric the length of apron – scraps of fabric or tape for the ties – can be made either by hand or machine.
Following these workshops, participants will have the opportunity to join a free 6-Week Accredited Sewing Course through Newcastle City Learning starting later in May. During this 6 week course, participants will take part in 6 weekly sewing sessions whilst completing an Entry 3 Award in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development. More information will be giving during the taster sessions.

The eligibility criteria for this course is;

- Must have a Newcastle Postcode
