Meet Julie

Julie joined The Millin Charity’s Enterprise Programme in May 2022.

She wanted to set up her own business and needed advice & guidance to help her to explore her ideas further and put a plan in place.

Julie makes crafts items using a range of recycled materials and wanted to learn how she could sell them to the public, but also how she could deliver workshops to teach adults & children how to make their own upcycled crafts items, in particularly ‘Worry Monsters’.

Attending our 9-week ‘Set up your Service Business’ course helped her to pull her ideas together, work out pricing, identify customers move forward with her business.

Additionally, Julie received one-to-one support to develop a brand for the business, to look at the types of insurance she needed and to identify the most suitable business structure for her.

In July 2022, Julie launched her business ‘Luna’s Rainbow Creations’ where she sells ‘mindful monsters’ online and at market events and provides children’s entertainment services at parties & events teaching children how to make their own worry monsters, storytelling & games.

Now registered as self-employed, sold at several crafts markets and is receiving regular orders, including some bulk orders and has several bookings for children’s parties.

“I have finally launched my business thanks to The Millin Charity and all of the great things that they do there. It’s been brilliant. I’m feeling much more confident with my next steps.”
