‘Choose your Future: Preparing for Employment’ – Free Level 1 Accredited Course for Women in Gateshead
Course Details:
The Choose Your Future Employment Programme has been designed to support women to increase their skills, confidence and move into employment.
This course will help you to identify the types of job roles that might be suitable for you and how to pursue them. Through this course, you will be supported to improve your confidence, explore your talents, skills and strengths, identify potential barriers and make a plan to enable you to overcome them and move forward on your journey.
Course Outline
- An introduction to the course and motivational activities
- Reflecting on your experiences & thinking about what you’d like to do next
- Identifying personal strengths and potential barriers
- Identifying opportunities for progression
- Pursuing opportunities and exploring the process for your next steps
- Applying for opportunities e.g. college, jobs, volunteering
- SMART goals and preparing for your next steps
Session Dates:
Intro Session: Tuesday 6th October 2026 12.30-2.30pm
Course Start Date: Tuesday 13th October 2026
Course End Date: Tuesday 10th November 2026
Time: 12.15-2.45pm
No session 27th Oct for Half term
Duration: 4 x 2.5 hour sessions (not including intro session)
Location: Local Women Local Enterprise Gateshead Hub, Greenesfield Business Centre, Mulgrave Terrace, Gateshead, NE8 1PQ
