Local Women Local Enterprise supports women to set up their own businesses. This short will support women to start thinking about enterprise & self-employment and how it will work for them.
During the session, we will look at
- examples of different types of businesses and business structures
- legal requirements for running a business
- how self-employment might work for you
- finances & feasibility
- exploring your next steps
This is a great opportunity to start exploring your own ideas further and to make plans for your next steps.
Participants are advised to attend the Introduction to Bookkeeping for Business workshop running the following week (4th February 2026).

- This course is available to women who live in Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside & Northumberland
- This workshop is fully funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund with the Gateshead Council as the lead.
- The Millin Charity Hubs are a women only space
- Please make sure you book your place in advance so that we are aware of how many people will be attending.
