‘Choose your Future: Preparing for your Next Steps – Free Level 1 Accredited Course for Women in Newcastle
Course Details:
This Level 1 Accredited course supports women to increase their skills, confidence and move closer towards planning for their next steps
Through this course, participants will be supported to improve confidence, explore their talents, skills and strengths, identify potential barriers and make a plan to enable them to overcome them and move forward on their journey.
Course Outline
- An introduction to the course and motivational activities
- Reflecting on your experiences & thinking about what you’d like to do next
- Identifying personal strengths and potential barriers
- Identifying opportunities for progression
- Pursuing opportunities and exploring the process for your next steps
- Applying for opportunities e.g. college, jobs, volunteering
- SMART goals and preparing for your next steps
This course is part of The Millin Charity & Tyneside Women’s Health ‘Choosing Futures’ Programme. We will also be running the Routes to Recovery Course within this programme. Find out more here.
Session Dates:
Intro Session: Wednesday 21st January 2026 12.00-2.00pm
Course Start Date: Wednesday 28th January 2026 12.00-2.30pm
Course End Date: Wednesday 25th February 12.00-2.30pm (no session during half term)
Duration: 4 x 2.5 hour sessions
Location: Tyneside Women’s Health, Newcastle Office, Wilfred Street, Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE6 1JQ

Eligibility Criteria
- Participants cannot be in employment or receiving job search support from the job centre
- Participants must live in Benwell, Scotswood, Elswick, Walker or Heaton South.
- This course is fully funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund – eligibility criteria may apply.
