The Millin Charity was established in 1999 to meet the needs of a dynamic and diverse local community, and today our staff, trustees and inspiring team of volunteers continue to innovate to fill the gaps that exist in mainstream services, so local people can find a way forward to improve their own and their families’ lives.

The Millin Charity Board of Trustees is fundamental to our ongoing development, as well as having a key role in the governance and leadership of the charity. Having appointed 2 fantastic new board members earlier this year, Dinah Bennett OBE and Kerrey Bakerwe now have the confidence, the track-record, the aspiration and the need to bolster our current board of trustees with 2 new volunteer board members.

Over the past couple of years we have driven a period of significant change in the charity, and are excited about our future prospects. As a board member you can help us to achieve our full potential as a charity, to continue to expand and grow, and to deliver our services for as long as they are needed.

If you have a passion and a commitment to making the a difference to a local charity with aspirations to achieve a global reach, we’d really like to hear from you. We’re particularly keen to hear from people who can provide leadership and strategic input into our next phase of transformation in these areas:

  • Diversification of income streams and commercial development;
  • Further development and roll-out of accredited training geared specifically to empowering disadvantaged women to achieve financial independence;
  • Fundraising;
  • Social enterprise and community trading models;
  • PR, promotion and marketing.
